Govt agents seize P 19.6- M cocaine at NAIA
As part of government's intensified campaign against illegal drugs, combined elements of the Bureau of Customs’ (BOC)- NAIA, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), and NAIA-IATG, arrested a passenger and intercepted his luggage containing P19.6-M worth of cocaine on Tuesday at Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay City.
The operation was conducted following a tip received by BOC NAIA and PDEA agents from their reliable informants.
The subject passenger arrived from Doha, Qatar via Qatar Airways QR 932 coming from Brazil as port of origin.
The passenger's luggage was subjected to K9, x-ray and 100% thorough physical examination which resulted in the discovery of 3.7 kilos of cocaine with estimated value of P19,610,000.
The suspect, identified as Stephen Joseph Szuhar, American, was apprehended for violation of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Drug Act.
