BOC-Port of Subic Conducts Coordination Meeting with PDEA
The Bureau of Customs – Port of Subic (BOC-POS), headed by District Collector Maritess Martin, had a coordination meeting with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Sept. 28 to cultivate better coordination and partnership between the agencies in enhancing border protection efforts.
PDEA officers showcased the agency’s new device, the Serstech 100 indicator (Raman Spectrometer) designed for measuring various chemicals.
Last April, the BOC-POS was provided one unit of Trace Detection System (TDS) as an addition to the non-intrusive tools for examination and inspection for the use of the Port.
This enforcement equipment will boost the agencies’ capability in detecting illegal substances allowing them to intensify their security measures against the entry of contraband into the country.
The Port of Subic, under the guidance of Commissioner Yogi Filemon Ruiz, continues to work closely with the PDEA to enhance its intelligence and enforcement capabilities, in accordance with the marching order of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. to stop the entry of smuggled goods in the country.
