BOC EXCEEDS SEPTEMBER PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS WITH P79B IN REVENUE COLLECTION

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) collected a total revenue amounting to P79.5B in September based on a preliminary report, once again exceeding its monthly target collection under the leadership of Commissioner Yogi Filemon Ruiz.

With the stringent implementation of border control measures, Commissioner Ruiz continuously drives the Bureau to plug revenue leakages and strengthen the nation’s trade facilitation and revenue collection performance.

With an actual revenue of P79.5B, the BOC was able to surpass its September target by P17.6B or by 28.4%. This shows an increase of P21.9B in garnered revenues and a 38.1% collection improvement as compared to September of last year.

Moreover, the Bureau continues to sustain its positive performance throughout 2022 as it already collected P638.7B in total revenues, 17.8% above its target for the months of January to September. This shows an increase of P168.9B or 35.9% in collection under the same timeline in 2021.

Customs Commissioner Ruiz continues to push all BOC offices and Collection Districts to sustain the exceptional performance of the Bureau throughout the year by taking advantage of the BOC’s modernization programs and enhanced reform initiatives aligned with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s 8-point Socioeconomic Program.
