In her first flag-raising ceremony as the District Collector of the Port of Cagayan de Oro, District Collector Alexandra Yap-Lumontad addressed the personnel of the Port of Cagayan de Oro including the Sub-Ports of Iligan, Mindanao Container Terminal and Ozamiz on November 14, 2022.
District Collector Lumontad said just like other employees she was surprised with the bigger responsibility that Customs Commissioner Yogi Filemon Ruiz entrusted her, but as a good soldier she is ready to take on the challenge to lead the Port of Cagayan de Oro.
In her speech, she also asked cooperation among all the personnel to lead the port to a much greater height in fulfilling its mandate in revenue collection, trade facilitation, and border protection.
In a play of words for the abbreviation CDO, District Collector Lumontad delivered her key message for all the personnel of Collection District X.
“I expect everyone is C-D-O, C for competent, D for dedicated, and O for obedient. I also like to deliver one key message to all of you: I will not tolerate C-D-O, C for corruption, D for divisiveness or division, and O for offensive behavior.”
District Collector Lumontad officially took the helm of the Port of Cagayan de Oro last week from her previous assignment as the District Collector of the Port of Clark.
